The VRTA is the Vancouver Branch of the provincial Retired Teachers Association (BCRTA). The main purpose of this association is to promote the interest and welfare of its members by providing information and advice through workshops, meetings and social events. From time to time various subcommittees form to support new initiatives. For example, the link to the Vancouver Board of Education’s Heritage schools committee consists mostly of our retired members, as well as the newly formed VRTA Website development. Members are required to be retired teachers (from either public or private schools) and pay annual fees to the BCRTA, including fees for our Branch membership.
