The Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WIDHH) have classes 'Better Communication with Hearing Loss' with tips on situations the Hard of Hearing person faces daily, lip reading and communicating more effectively, and how to get the most out of your hearing aid.  Hearing aids may take perseverance to get used to hearing sounds that have not been distinct for some time.

The WIDHH offers a 'Lend an Ear' program.  The nominal fee of $140 enables a person with financial need to get a hearing test, a permanent loan of one hearing aid, an earmold and one-year of repair service.  The WIDHH appreciates donations of used hearing aids to support this program as the refurbished hearing aids help those who cannot afford new ones.  For more information 604 736-7391
